KiTTY is an improved version of PuTTY (v 0.63) - an SSH/telnet access tool. The program allows developers to access security protocols and use advanced encryption tools. KiTTY is compatible with both Windows and Linux - it can be used as an xterm emulator as well. The program has more than a few improvements over the original tool including an automatic password addition feature, the ability to run commands without human supervision and save all the sessions run by a user on a remote server.
KiTTY allows developers to remotely access a Unix device using the Windows OS. Essentially, a developer would have the same feeling as if he’s sitting at the console even if doesn’t have physical access to a Unix device. The programme protects a user from human error as well - for instance, there’s an accidental keyboard input protection feature available.
How Can KiTTY Boost Your PC?
KiTTY supports a wide range of security protocols - SSH, SSH1, SSH2, and Open-SSH. KiTTY is designed to be a multi-platform solution that can be run on Windows, MacOS, and Linux. Currently, only Windows and Unix are available - however, the solution is constantly updating.
KiTTY uses xterm as its main terminal. However, its reach is not limited to a particular terminal - in fact, some of the controls supported by the programme are not compatible with xterm at all. The tool has advanced features developers can benefit from - an SSH handler, integrations with Internet Explorer and other MS-Windows tools, access to new command-line options, binary compression clipboard printing, and more.
Keep in mind that KiTTY can only be used in countries that don’t fine for encryption. It’s better to consult the web regarding the cryptographic regulations in your country, in case you don’t want to run a risk of being fined. All the data gathered by KiTTY is stored in the Registry. You can access a precise file path in the left sidebar. Altogether, the interface of the program has a tree-based structure that makes it easy to navigate.
KiTTY Main Features:
- Pre-defined command shortcuts;
- Built-in session launcher;
- Session filter access;
- URL hyperlinks;
- A built-in chat server and text editor.
KiTTY is a useful tool for developers who want to establish an SSH connection and improve system security on a Windows device. It is a convenient tool that offers the advanced customization, cross-platform access feature, and a wide range of security protocols supported.
