How TeamTalk Works

As a Team Talk user, you need to configure your own TeamTalk server in order to operate this software hassle-free. This software is supported on computer platforms such as MacOS, Linux (CentOS, Debian, and Raspbian) and on Windows OS. It also supports mobile phone platforms, such as Android and iOS.

It is quite elaborate and difficult to install a TeamTalk server if you don’t have prior experience with handling network setups. So this review should help you with the setup process, however, if you have more technical difficulties, you may have to contact the customer support.

For Mac OS X, the server binary is called tt5srv and is located in your computer’s storage under - Applications/teamtalk5.app/contents/server subfolder after installing the TeamTalk.dmg file. Just like on Linux, the file can run on both Deamon mode and as a regular console application.

  • Next, you should go ahead and type: /Applications/TeamTalk5.app/Contents/server/tt5srv for a guide on how to run the team talk server (tt5srv).
  • You must then type /applications/teamtalk5.app/Contents/server/tt5srv-wizard for the server setup-wizard type.
  • For Windows users, you first need to run the Team Talk application on your PC, while installing the Team Talk server during that process.
  • You will then look for a folder called “TeamTalk NT Service” in the “Team Talk program group on the windows start menu.
  • Clicking on “install TeamTalk NT Service” in the TeamTalk 5 programme group will cause a UAC(User Access Control) to pop-up. This will cause the Team Talk server to run the config wizard. You have to type ‘y’ if you want to transform the server’s default settings or set up user accounts.
  • You can then connect to the server with the help of a recently created administrator account.
  • If you need to create more user accounts, then make use of the User Account dialogue.

For Linux users, the server binary is called ‘tt5srv’, which can be found in the server-subfolder after accessing the archive. It’s possible to run it as a regular console application and also with the Deamon mode. A Deamon Script is included which may be inserted in /etc/init.d.

You then so ahead and type ./tt5srv for a guide on how to run the team talk server (tt5srv). For this process, ensure that the setup-wizard is active at a writable location, so it can save its changes to disk.

To install multiple TeamTalk NT services, the sc.exe. Command can be used. It uses the Speex Audio Codec and OPUS for voice encodings.

The application’s interface is extremely simple due to the fact that the majority of its audience is visually challenged or have a learning disability. It is excellent software for businesses as it helps you in holding a meeting, displaying presentations, communicating with colleagues, and many more. It’s also good for personal use as you can have live audio and video group chat sessions with your friends from any part of the world.

This was originally authored by BearWare.dk. It’s a free application which can be obtained from regular software websites. It can be passed around free of charge. However, if you work as a developer and you wish to write applications for this software, then you have to purchase a license. This application has a file size of 16.76(17,578,696 bytes) which is pretty lightweight, compared to tools with similar functionalities.
